Film" made its debut at the 10th Annual Holywood Film
Festival® & Hollywood Awards®.
"Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride: Hunter S. Thompson on
Film" made its debut at the 10th Annual Holywood Film
Festival® & Hollywood Awards®. The documentary
was directed by Tom Thurman, and produced by The
Starz Entertainment Group, Tom Thurman, Christopher
Black, Michael Ruggiero, and Stephen Shelanski.
Post-production audio was by Neil Kesterson of
Dynamix Productions. Academy Award-nominated actor
Nick Nolte narrated, featuring interviews with
Hunter's inner circle of family and friends. But the
thrust of the documentary is focused o the manner in
which his life often overlapped with numerous
Hollywood celebrities who became his closest friends.
Guests include: Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), Bill Murray (Where the Buffalo Roam), Sean Penn, John Cusack, Hunter's wife Anita, son Juan, former Senators George McGovern and Gary Hart, Tom Wolfe, William F. Buckley, Gary Busey, Harry Dean Stanton, Ralph Steadman, amd others.
This is Tom Thurman and Neil Kesterson's third collaboration, along with the documentaries "Immaculate Funk" (2000) and "Ben Johnson: Third Cowboy on the Right" (1996).
